Common questions
Do I get anything if I resign before 2 years?
No. Under Article 85, a worker who resigns with less than two years of service is not entitled to the benefit.
Is housing allowance included?
The benefit is based on your last actual wage, which means basic pay plus regular allowances such as housing. Your contract and Qiwa record set the exact figure.
What if I resign at exactly 5 years?
You receive one third. Two thirds applies only when service is more than five years (Article 85).
What if my employer ends my contract without a valid reason?
You receive the full benefit plus compensation under Article 77: 15 days’ wage per year for open-ended contracts, or the wage for the remaining term for fixed-term contracts, with a minimum of two months’ wage.
Does this apply to expatriate workers?
Yes. The benefit covers Saudi and non-Saudi employees under the Labor Law alike.
